Let me illustrate first, however, what I understand in this connection by "inherent property". Adjectives in "-lijk" denote properties of the object referred to which originate from its very nature an which, consequently, are inalienable, i.e. inherent to it. Consider e.g. "beminnelijk" "lovable" [...]: this adjective does not refer to an incidental property depending on context and situation but it relates to an inalienable, inherent property of the person referred to.
