For any position "n" in the sequence of rules by which a word's inflections are spelled out and any complete and fully specified set [σ] of morphosyntactic features appropriate to that word's category, there is a morpholexical function MLF"n",[σ] that determines which rule (if any) applies at position "n" to realize [σ].
