The redundancy rules [...] present a hierarchy operating on a number of levels. Of these, the contextual level and the semantically subcategorizing levels are by now already quite traditional. On the former, for instance, we would learn that "in the context of a form ending in...", or "a form counting more than one syllable...", or "a form containing the sound "x" in the "y"-th syllable...", etc."the morph "Q" has to be chosen". And similarly on the syntactic level: "in a sentence-final position the morph "P" has to be chosen".
