[…] quantifiers may be divided into different types, along the dimension of: (i) Absolute/relative: Absolute quantifiers define the size of an ensemble in absolute terms; relative quantifiers do not inform us about the absolute size, but compare the size to some explicit standard of comparison, or to some implicit standard (a tacitly assumed “norm”). (ii) Proportional/Non-Proportional: Proportional quantifiers informs us about the size of an ensemble R [Referent Ensemble] in relation to the size of a super-ensemble D [Domain Ensamble], from which R is “cut out”; non- proportional quantifiers restrict their quantification to a single ensemble R.
