In the simple case of Latin, a general rule states that a verb must agree with its subject in person and number. The rule in Breton is different: it says that, when an overt subject is present, the verb is neutrlized in person and number - that is, it takes the unmarked value of features for these categories, namely [-I, -II, -pl] or third person singular.
