Lieber's lexico-inflectional system circumvents an autonomous M-component at the cost of enriching the lexicon. Her lexicon contains independent listings for all affixes and stems, derived and underived. Additionally, it contains 7 different types of rules: morpholexical, conversion, lexical structure, insertion, autosegmental, string-dependent T-rules, null affixation rules plus four percolation conventions residing in four subcomponents of the lexicon. An autonomous semantic component of undetermined complexity and location will describe the grammatically relevant aspects of meaning.
