We would like to propose the term “(synchronic) homonymy” for pairs or sets of signs having no element of their designata in common, e.g. 'cry'1 "shout" and 'cry'2 "weep"; 'fair'1 "not foul", 'fair'2 "not biassed", and 'fair'3 "pretty good".
