Verbs are not compounded [with each other], nor is a verb and a noun compound [with each other]. However, a semantically related noun is compounted with a noun or with a pre-verb. (pp. 488-489)
- Deshpande (1997), Pag.

A particle which is [normally] accented can occasionally become unaccented, and as such is compounded. An istance of that kind is “itihāśaḥ”. [additionally, for the preceding rule], one should offer examples such as “naghāriṣām” and “susaha”. [The next rule:] An unaccented noun is compounded with the preceding “saha”. (p. 484)
