Dialectal bilingualism in its neater form, i.e. one with clearly distinct dialect₁ and dialect₂, deserves to be dwelt upon a little further, since professional dialectologists, who are mostly antiquaries looking for old forms in any context (dialect₁ or dialect₂), have not been inclined to describe the socio-linguistic settings in which they operate.
