Citazioni

In 'decreolization' the creolized varieties lose their distinctive features and begin to level in the direction of the original target language. This change occurs in the multilingual contact situation as the social and economic pressures to use the target language in more and more domains become increasingly pronounced, and as opportunities to master the language improve. A '(post-) creole continuum' of dialect varieties exhibiting varying approximations to the standard form of the target language is one typical result.
