The Straits languages of Coast Salish [...] have an aspectual distinction which is similar to the perfective-imperfective opposition of Slavic. What correspond roughly to the central semantic coverage of imperfective, however, appears to be marked category in these languages, so that we have chosen the term ACTUAL for it; non-actual forms cover other situations in a typical unmarked fashion.
