If we notice a contour which is automatic in respect to the end of utterances and also occurs elsewhere in the utterances, it is a safe bet, even without knowing the morphemes or points of morpheme boundary, to place juncture phonemes throughout the utterances, at such points so that each occurrence of the contour will be automatic in respect to these points in the same way that the last occurence is automatic in respect to the end of the utterance. - Harris (1951), a pag.88, n.21
