In this text 'word' is used to define morphological structures which do not include phrases phonologically identicle with parallel syntactic formations, but which may include clitics having no corresponding free forms. Thus, 'the king of England's' would not be considered a 'word', but the Quechua expressions in section 4.5 would be words.
